Ack, who cares? *lubbs Pitaten* Seriously, I only have the first 2 volumes of the manga and I already love it... x3 *wants to get the other 6 volumes* xD Lalalala.. my fav charries are probably Kotarou and Takashi (Ten-chan). Yeah, I know, they're all boys.. >> They're awesome...! (steals emoticon from lilkawaiikat for one second--) @0@;; I need to see the anime too... But I bet it's not airing anymore. Awww.... (Isn't Pitaten, like, a year old or something?? *ish uneducated*) At any rate, I probably won't get any responses to this. x3 Just 'cause I'm crazeh. :3

Date: 6/5/04 --Harry Potter 3 Movie! (SPOILERS)

:pointr:Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban ! My opinions on the new movie... (I saw it on opening day at 10:30 PM... x3) Feel free to counter my review as you wish...


The Bad Points:
-The beginning seemed to just whoosh by too quickly...
-It took me a while to get adjusted to the new street clothes.
-Lupin does look a little funny... xD
-The werewolf looks a little bony...
-I just... just hated the kiss of death. I think that the way they mdae Black's 'soul' come from his mouth is cool; the soul was awesome, but the way the faces turned converted during the kiss of death killed me.... (EERRRRR.... *steams a bit*) The effect looked sorta... amateur.
-Many scences in the beginning were... well, sped through.
-Many scenes (throughout the entire movie) were edited. A lot.
-Malfoy looks.... UGLY! *sobs*
-I could've sworn Hagrid's hut was in a different place... *bonks head and tries to refresh memory*
-The shrieking shack scene was too short. It was supposed to be a very important scene!
-Only a few characters got major roles that were shown in the movie: Harry, Hermione, Black, Lupin, Ron, Scabbers (only near the end), a BIT of Snape, very very little of Malfoy, and a snip of Hagrid/Buckbeak and Dumbledore. The rest only got about 1 or 2 showings each.
-There weren't many classes or stress about schoolwork... etc... And about 5 minutes of Quidditch.
-Harry 'cried.' But when Hermione lifted the cloak, his eyes were only (sorry..) natrually red and baggy and revealed no hint of tears.

"Bad Points" Summary: Basically the beginning of the movie didn't flow too well. It got better a little later on. Also, many little errors added up to many big ones. And there were a lot of those.


The Good Points:
-The ending was kick-ass. It ROCKED. (In my humble opinion.) I especially liked how the cycle of time sorta goes on over and over again... And how it was actually Hermione who helped Harry, herself and Ron escape from danger a lot. (the stone in Hagrid's hut, the howl, etc...) Also, how Harry and Hermione actually changed things a lot, and the fact that it was actually them.
-The werewolf transformation.
-Snape! ^^
-BUCKBEAK!! (w00t!) Buckbeak is AWESOME.
-Hermione gets a majorly awesome role in this movie.
-The effects (besides when the people's faces converted; that looked like... Like an amateur act. (during the Knight Bus and during the kisses of death)) were good. The dementors actually looked awesome.... :D

"Good Points" Summary: More bad points than good. But the ending's great. (from the point of Hermione's punch to Malfoy to the end) The major good points sorta make up for the minor bad points. (not completely, but very close. The fact that I read the book a few years ago makes me not notice and forget the major differences between the movie and the novel as much.)


Overall Summary: I was really dissapointed. I personally believe that the first two movies were better. They flowed together better! This new director is... well... just not Chris (the old director). But you of course have to see the movie. Though it may seem like it, I don't actually hate the movie. The good parts make up for most of the bad parts. After seeing the awesome ending, you'll forget about the semi-bad beginning. Go see it! In the end you'll leave satisfied and thinking all about Hermione's hourglass time turner. ^^ Yesh, indeed, the ending made me forget about the beginning. I was satisfied when I left. ^^

Rating: 7/10 (pretty good!) (I felt happy after watching the time-turned-back scences)

:pointr: I'm going to the FanimeCon 2004! This Monday (or maybe Sunday)! Yay! I can search for .hack//LEGEND OF (the?) TWILIGHT volume 3 there... (though I doubt it's even out yet. o.<') It's so lovely to live only a short drive away from San Jose. :3


:pointr: I'm finally reading Eragon! My friend suggested it to me; he said it was like LOTR... (like I've ever read a LOTR book/seen a movie before. x3 Hehe... ^^; ) Also, I just finished The Prophecy of the Stones; it's an awesome book. We need more female heroine stories like that one!! :nod: And, just for a random little bit, And Then There Were None (an Agatha Christine book) is really scary. o____<; Dun get me wrong, it's a GREAT book, great literature, but it was a bit scary for me. o.o; But then again, I'm scared of fake blood, so I guess it's just me. xD Also, anyone who's read any of these books, speak up. I like peoples' opinions. :3

(well, except for Ruth, who knew for a few weeks. o.o' x3) Anways.... it's magik_carrot. ^^ :nod: Yesh... and I've got a starry ixi, and I'm working for a lab map. (I'm looking for sellers...)
